<P><STRONG>電子工業學會於1924年創立於美國華盛頓，曾經數度易名，1950年名為國家無線電製造商學會(NationalRadioManufacturesAssociation)，1957年名為無線電、電子、電視製造商學會(Radio-Electronies-TelevisionManufacturesAssociation)。</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG></STRONG> </P>
<P><STRONG>主要任務如下：（一）建立電子組件、測試方法，以及各種電子設備性能標準。</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG></STRONG> </P>
<P><STRONG>（二）頒發榮譽及傑出服務獎牌(MedalofHonorandDistinguishedServiceAwards)給對電子工業有傑出貢獻之廠商。</STRONG></P>
<P><STRONG></STRONG> </P>
<P><STRONG>（三）設立電子工業基金會（ElectronicIndustriesFoundation，簡稱EIF），鼓勵電子工業公司參與解決社會問題和增加少數民族青年及殘障者工作機會之計畫。</STRONG></P>

<P><STRONG>該學會目前有1,200個會員。</STRONG></P>

<P><STRONG>分為工程(Engineering)、政府事務(GovernmentAffairs)、銷售服務(MarketingService)和公共事務(PublicAffairs)4個部門。</STRONG></P>
